Notice of “Automatic Renewal of Temporary Residence” to foreigners
- Foreigners who enter Vietnam with visa exemption, e-visas or tourist visas from March 1, 2020 till now are “automatically extended temporary residence permits” until the end of June 30, 2020 and may exit during the above period without having to carry out procedures for extending the temporary residence. In case of entry before March 1st, 2020 if proven to be stuck due to Covid-19 and certified by the Diplomatic missions through a diplomatic note (with Vietnamese translation) or written confirmation of Vietnamese authorities on quarantine, Covid-19 treatment or other force majeure reasons … are also considered to apply “automatic extension of temporary stay” until June 30, 2020 and must present official note or confirmation of the above when exit.
- Foreign citizens mentioned above during the “automatically extended temporary residence” period must declare temporary residence and medical declaration as prescribed.
- Foreign citizens not mentioned in Section 1 of this Notice or having other law violations shall comply with the current provisions of Vietnamese law.
